The Instinkt Escape Hood is a certified emergency escape hood designed to help protect you from toxic fire smoke while evacuating a building. It is intended for emergency escape only—not firefighting.
Why is it rated for only 15 minutes? ▼
The 15-minute rating is the minimum protection time required by the European EN 403 certification standard. It does not mean the hood stops working after exactly 15 minutes.
Does the hood contain oxygen? ▼
No. The hood does not produce oxygen. It filters toxic fire gases and smoke particles from the surrounding air, allowing you to breathe more safely while escaping.
Can I breathe normally while wearing it? ▼
